Ryanair resumes the sale of all Lappeenranta flights – new connection from Bavaria, Germany to Lappeenranta to be launched in July

Ryanair, Europe’s largest low-cost carrier, has resumed the sale of all planned flights to Lappeenranta. Flights from Bergamo and Vienna will start in July, with flights from Budapest and Berlin commencing from November.

Ryanair will also launch a new route between Lappeenranta and southern Germany in July. The route will be flown from Memmingen Airport, located 110 kilometres southwest of Munich. All the Ryanair routes are designed to be year-round and are operated twice a week.

Lauda (laudamotion) starts flights to Lappeenranta

New route between Lappeenranta and Vienna will open in spring 2020

Austria’s number one low cost airline, Lauda, will open new route between Lappeenranta and Vienna in spring 2020. Airline is named after its finder Niki Lauda and is 100% owned by Ryanair. New route will be launched at the end of March 2020 and will operate twice a week.

During next summer season Ryanair flies to Lappeenranta also from Milan Bergamo, Berlin and Budapest twice weekly and from Athens and Thessaloniki once a week.

Ryanair launches new Lappeenranta route to Budapest for winter 2019 -

Europe’s biggest low cost carrier Ryanair increases again flight offering from Lappeenranta.  During winter season 2019/20 Ryanair offers flights to Milan Bergamo, to Berlin Schönefeld and   to Budapest twice a week. Flights to Milan Bergamo and Berlin continue after summer 2019 season and flights to new destination Budapest commence in the end of October.

Ryanair’s total seat offering from Lappeenranta during 2019 will therefore grow nearly 300% compared to year 2018.

Ryanair starts operations from Lappeenranta to Athens

Europe’s biggest low cost carrier Ryanair returns to Lappeenranta next spring with a weekly flight to Athens.

Athens is the capital and largest city in Greece with 4.2 million inhabitants. About 40 percent of the country's population lives in the Aegean vastest area. Ryanair flies from Athens airport to a number of destinations in the Greek archipelago and many other destinations in Europe.

Lappeenranta Airport is now privately owned airport

As of the beginning of this year, Lappeenranta Airport is regionally owned. Finavia, the City of Lappeenranta and the Regional Council of South Karelia decided to transfer the ownership of Lappeenranta Airport property and its business operations, previously owned by Finavia, to Saimaan lentoasema-säätiö sr (the Saimaa Airport Foundation) and to a new company entitled Lappeenrannan Lentoasema Oy (Lappeenranta Airport Plc).
